HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR AUDITIONS ON DECEMBER 17th IN MS. FRANK'S ROOM 2:00 - 4:00
Every student who comes to auditions will be in the show. If you are auditioning for a “lead” part you will need to sing something alone from the show OR a sing a song of your choice. To see samples of the lines we will use during auditions please go to the following website: https://www.mtishows.com/schoolhouse-rock-live-jr Then scroll down to “Audition Central”. You will see a character description, a sample of the music you can sing, and a small script for each character we will use during the audition. If you are interested in being in the chorus you can sing along with a small group. You do not have to sing alone. Please look carefully at the calendar to be sure you can attend all rehearsals. If you have a regular after school activity either in school or outside of school that happens on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday you should not audition for a lead. Even chorus members should be at all rehearsals. When a cast member is absent it affects everyone else involved. This is a team activity where everyone on the team participates in all rehearsals.

The musical,"Schoolhouse Rock, Jr is an energetic show about school and what students can learn. It contains many of the musical numbers arranged specifically for production at the middle school level. While it is a shortened version of the full production, it maintains the story line and includes the major musical numbers of the original "Schoolhouse Rock.”
If you are auditioning for a lead speaking role you will be required to learn many lines and you will be singing solo or in very small group musical numbers. If you are auditioning for a chorus part, you may be required to speak a limited number of lines and will be performing several musical numbers that include singing and choreography. Leads are required to be at all rehearsals. Please see the calendar posted elsewhere on this site. All rehearsals after February 26 are required for all cast and crew members.
Go over this form with your parents and have them sign it. This indicates you and they understand the commitment you will be making if you participate in this production.

We understand that the rehearsals run from 2:00 to 4:00 on all rehearsal dates except the following: March 26, 27, 28, which will run to 5:30.
