Drama Club Announcements and Updates
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO
CLUB MEMBERS AND PARENTS
Congratulations to the Cast and Crew for Another Fantastic Performance. To our graduating 8th graders: "Break a Leg" at YHS. To next year's cast: keep the "Ghost Light" on inside your "Stage Brain".
THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE
UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO UNCERTAIN WEATHER CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY
WE MUST CANCEL THAT PERFORMANCE.
WE WILL BE PRESENTING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY EVENING STARTING AT 7:00 PM.
FINAL WEEK SCHEDULE
As we approach the final week of rehearsals and the performances there are several things the cast and parents need to know. We have, weather permitting, a limited number of rehearsals left. The rehearsals of the final week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will take place on the stage in the gymnasium. They will run from 2:00 to 5:30. This is a change from past rehearsals. We need the extended time for the cast and crew to become comfortable on the stage.
Things are very different when the cast is working on the actual stage with lights and microphones. We also will have light and sound crews who need to learn the show in two days. The cast is also aware that the rehearsal on Wednesday is treated as our first performance. It must be run twice with no stops. So it is extremely important that everyone involved in the show be present for the entire time (2:00 to 5:30) on all of these days. I sincerely hope that parents can make arrangements necessary to make this happen. We have been very careful not to keep the cast beyond 4:00. Now we are asking for your cooperation in this last week.
Our performances for an audience on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday start at 7:00 and should be over by 8:30. Cast members should arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 in costume using the main gymnasium entrances. Parents dropping off cast and crew are welcome to remain in the audience until the performance begins. Concerning costumes, regular school clothing is what is required for the cast. The stage walls are black so colorful tops with little or no writing or symbols and pants that are NOT black will work. Cast members should also wear comfortable shoes for dancing. Boots are really not suited for this.
Help! Help! Help!
We will need two or three parent volunteers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the week of the show to supervise cast members back stage from 2:00 to 5:00. Also, we will need parents on the show nights from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to do the same thing.
Please contact Ms. Frank if you can help.
